AU INFO + INSPIRATION
TL;DR: this is an AU where Link went missing partway through his adventure, causing the Light Dragon to (eventually) realize that something was wrong and go seeking him herself via an avatar/puppet inspired by both the Sages' Vows and Ganondorf's own creation. (Link may have gotten badly injured during the Crisis at Hyrule Castle quest. Gloomsickness is no joke.)
Assorted sources of inspiration:
A video of the glitch that lets Link leave the final battle, causing the Light Dragon to follow him around the map trying desperately to scoop him up. This is used to try to play a balloon-popping mini-game, only for her to upend the minecart Link is in and disrupt the game. Top comment is: "NO TIME!!!!!! girlfrieng ❤️"
